ORGANIZATION SERVICES TERMS & CLIENT AGREEMENT

These Organization Services Terms apply exclusively to professional organization services provided by Scrub PDX LLC, referred to below as “Scrub.” These terms do not apply to Scrub’s cleaning services.

By booking an organization service, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

1. Scope of Organization Services

Organization services may include sorting, categorizing, decluttering, space planning, arranging belongings, labeling, creating storage systems, preparing items for donation or disposal, and recommending organizational products or solutions.

Unless specifically included in the client’s written service confirmation, organization services do not include:

Routine, deep, or specialty cleaning
Carpet or upholstery cleaning
Laundry or dishwashing
Pest treatment or remediation
Mold, bodily-fluid, biohazard, or hazardous-material removal
Junk hauling or dump services
Moving services
Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, repair, or installation work
Furniture assembly, wall mounting, or heavy-item relocation
Appraisal, legal, financial, medical, or mental-health services

Any additional service must be separately approved and may result in additional charges.

2. Estimates and Project Completion

Any estimate of time, cost, staffing, materials, or project completion is an informed estimate and not a guarantee.

The amount of time required may depend on the volume of belongings, the condition of the space, the client’s decision-making pace, product availability, accessibility, and unexpected circumstances discovered during the project.

Scrub will not guarantee that an entire room, home, or project will be completed within a particular appointment unless that commitment is expressly provided in writing.

If additional time or appointments are recommended, Scrub will discuss the next steps with the client before continuing beyond the scheduled service period.

3. Client Participation and Decision-Making

The client or an authorized representative must be reasonably available to make decisions about belongings unless a written plan has been approved in advance.

The client retains final decision-making authority regarding what is kept, relocated, donated, recycled, sold, shredded, or discarded.

Time spent waiting for the client to make decisions, locating the client, reviewing individual items, or changing previously approved decisions is considered service time and may be billable.

Scrub may offer recommendations, but the client is responsible for all final decisions and the consequences of those decisions.

4. Authority Over Property

The client confirms that they own the belongings being organized or have the legal authority and permission necessary to make decisions regarding those belongings.

The client agrees not to instruct Scrub to remove, donate, relocate, sell, or discard property belonging to another person without that person’s permission.

Scrub may refuse to handle any item when ownership or decision-making authority is disputed or unclear.

5. Donation, Recycling and Disposal Authorization

Scrub will not intentionally donate, recycle, sell, shred, or discard belongings without the client’s authorization.

Authorization may be provided through:

A written project plan
A signed disposal or donation authorization
An email or text confirmation
Clearly designated and client-approved donation, recycling, shredding, or disposal areas
Direct instructions provided during the appointment

Once authorized items have been removed from the property, transferred to a third party, donated, recycled, shredded, or discarded, recovery cannot be guaranteed.

The client is responsible for reviewing all bags, boxes, containers, piles, drawers, folders, and designated removal areas before approving removal.

Scrub does not determine the charitable value of donated property and does not provide tax, appraisal, or valuation advice. Donation receipts are not guaranteed unless specifically arranged in advance.

Donation drop-off, recycling, hauling, disposal fees, mileage, parking, and related transportation time may be billed separately when disclosed to the client.

6. Valuables and Sensitive Items

Before service begins, the client must identify, secure, or remove:

Cash and negotiable instruments
Jewelry, collectibles, and heirlooms
Passports, identification documents, and legal records
Financial and tax documents
Prescription medications
Keys and access devices
Firearms, ammunition, and other weapons
Items with significant financial or sentimental value
Confidential business, medical, or personal records

The client must notify Scrub of fragile, unstable, irreplaceable, concealed, or unusually valuable property.

Scrub will exercise reasonable care but cannot determine the financial, historical, legal, or sentimental value of every item. Scrub is not responsible for an item being donated, discarded, relocated, or grouped incorrectly when the client approved the applicable category or removal area.

7. Documents and Data

Scrub may assist with physically categorizing paperwork but does not provide legal, tax, bookkeeping, records-retention, identity-protection, or document-destruction advice.

The client is responsible for deciding which records must be retained, shredded, scanned, filed, or discarded.

Scrub will not review private digital devices, passwords, financial accounts, electronic files, or cloud storage unless a separate written scope of work expressly authorizes that service.

8. Organizational Products and Materials

Bins, shelving, labels, drawer dividers, furniture, storage products, hardware, and other organizational materials are not included in the service price unless expressly stated in writing.

Scrub may recommend products or purchase approved products on the client’s behalf. The client agrees to reimburse Scrub for all approved purchases and any disclosed shopping, sourcing, delivery, mileage, pickup, return, or service fees.

Client approval may be provided by email, text message, written project plan, or another documented method.

Product availability, measurements, colors, prices, delivery dates, and compatibility cannot be guaranteed. Product returns are subject to the retailer’s return policy. The client may be responsible for restocking fees, return transportation, nonreturnable products, and time spent processing returns.

9. Measurements and Product Fit

Scrub will use reasonable care when measuring and recommending organizational products. However, the client is responsible for reviewing and approving permanent, custom, high-cost, or nonreturnable purchases before ordering.

Walls, floors, cabinetry, drawers, closets, and furniture may be uneven or contain hidden conditions that affect product fit.

Scrub is not responsible for manufacturing defects, inaccurate retailer descriptions, shipping damage, discontinued products, or products that fail after installation or use.

10. Preexisting Conditions and Fragile Property

The client must disclose known damage, unstable furniture, weak shelving, loose fixtures, water damage, pest activity, fragile surfaces, and other conditions that may affect the work.

Scrub is not responsible for damage resulting from ordinary wear, deterioration, hidden defects, improper prior installation, unstable furniture, overloaded shelving, defective products, or preexisting damage.

If Scrub directly causes physical damage through negligence, the client must notify Scrub promptly and provide reasonable documentation and access to inspect the affected area. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot legally be limited.

11. Heavy, Oversized or Secured Items

Scrub may decline to lift, carry, disassemble, relocate, mount, or install an item that cannot be handled safely with the available staff, equipment, or working conditions.

Special arrangements may be required for heavy furniture, appliances, safes, large storage systems, wall-mounted items, or objects requiring professional movers, installers, or tradespeople.

Scrub may recommend that the client hire an appropriately qualified third party. Third-party services are separate from Scrub’s organization services unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12. Safety and Working Conditions

The client must provide a reasonably safe and accessible working environment, including adequate lighting, ventilation, utilities, parking or entry instructions, and unobstructed access to the project area.

Scrub may pause, modify, reschedule, or terminate service if the property contains unsafe conditions, including but not limited to:

Active pest or rodent infestation
Mold or suspected mold
Needles, bodily fluids, human or animal waste, or biohazards
Hazardous chemicals or unidentified substances
Exposed wiring, structural instability, or unsafe flooring
Unsecured weapons
Illegal substances or suspected illegal activity
Aggressive animals or threatening behavior
Excessive smoke, fumes, heat, cold, or lack of essential utilities
Conditions requiring specialized remediation or protective equipment

The client remains responsible for service time already performed and any expenses incurred before the unsafe condition was discovered.

13. Children, Pets and Other Occupants

Children, pets, and other occupants must be appropriately supervised and kept away from active work areas when necessary for safety and efficiency.

Pets that may escape, interfere with the work, display aggression, or experience distress must be secured in a separate area.

Scrub may stop work if an occupant or animal creates an unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or threatening environment.

14. Access to the Property

The client is responsible for providing accurate access instructions and ensuring Scrub can enter the property at the scheduled time.

The client must disclose alarms, gate codes, parking restrictions, building requirements, elevator reservations, loading-zone restrictions, or other access conditions before the appointment.

Lockouts, inaccessible properties, denied entry, missing access instructions, or delays caused by the client are subject to Scrub’s separately stated lockout and cancellation policy.

15. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The client agrees to Scrub’s 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy.

Appointments canceled, shortened, or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged according to the cancellation policy provided during booking.

The same policy may apply when Scrub cannot begin or complete the service because of a lockout, unsafe conditions, unavailable decision-maker, unsecured animal, lack of utilities, or another preventable condition under the client’s control.

16. Payment

Organization services are billed according to the rates, minimum appointment period, staffing level, travel charges, product expenses, and other fees disclosed in the booking confirmation or written estimate.

Payment is due according to the terms shown on the client’s booking confirmation or invoice.

The client is responsible for authorized service time, approved purchases, applicable fees, and work completed before a project is paused or terminated.

Organization services are separate from cleaning services and may be priced, scheduled, invoiced, and paid separately.

17. No Guarantee of Ongoing Results

Scrub will create and recommend organizational systems based on the information, space, belongings, budget, and goals available at the time of service.

Scrub cannot guarantee that:

Every item will fit within the available space
A recommended system will work permanently
Household members will follow the system
Clutter will not return
The property’s value or appearance will increase
A particular product will remain available or perform indefinitely

Maintaining the organized space is the client’s responsibility after the service is completed.

18. Confidentiality and Privacy

Scrub will use reasonable discretion when working with the client’s belongings and personal information.

Information may be shared with Scrub employees, contractors, insurers, professional advisers, payment processors, or service providers when reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate the business, address a claim, collect payment, or comply with law.

The client should secure any information or property they do not want accessed during the organization process.

19. Photographs and Media

Scrub may take photographs for internal documentation, project planning, inventory reference, quality control, or dispute resolution.

Scrub will not publicly post or use identifiable photographs of the client’s property for advertising, social media, portfolio, or promotional purposes without separate permission.

Permission to use marketing photographs is voluntary and is not required to receive organization services.

20. Third-Party Services

Scrub may provide referrals or coordinate with donation centers, junk-removal providers, movers, installers, storage facilities, retailers, shredding companies, or other third parties.

Unless Scrub expressly agrees otherwise in writing, third-party providers are independent businesses and are not employees or agents of Scrub. The client is responsible for reviewing and accepting the third party’s pricing, availability, qualifications, insurance, and terms.

Scrub does not guarantee the performance, availability, or conduct of an independently selected third party.

21. Changes to the Project

The client may request changes to the project scope. Requested changes may affect the price, appointment length, number of team members, materials, or estimated completion date.

Scrub may require written approval before completing additional work or purchasing additional products.

22. Respectful Conduct

Scrub is committed to providing services in a professional and respectful environment.

Scrub may immediately pause or terminate service because of harassment, discrimination, threats, abusive conduct, sexual misconduct, unsafe behavior, or intentional interference with the work.

The client remains responsible for authorized work already completed and expenses already incurred.

23. Concerns and Claims

The client agrees to inspect the completed work and promptly notify Scrub of any concern involving damaged property, missing property, an incorrect disposition, or an unauthorized charge.

Reports should include a description of the concern, the approximate time it occurred, photographs when applicable, and any supporting documentation.

Both parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve concerns directly before pursuing another remedy.

24. Electronic Communications and Acceptance

The client agrees that booking confirmations, approvals, invoices, project updates, and other service communications may be provided electronically.

The client should retain a copy of these terms and the applicable booking confirmation for their records.

Electronic acceptance, including checking an acceptance box, electronically signing, or completing a booking after being presented with these terms, indicates the client’s agreement to be bound by them to the extent permitted by applicable law.

25. Entire Agreement and Severability

These terms, together with the client’s booking confirmation, written estimate, approved project plan, and applicable cancellation or lockout policy, constitute the agreement for the organization service.

If one provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Any modification must be agreed to in writing by Scrub and the client.
